7 Easy Four-Ingredient Cocktails to Make at Home

7 Easy Four-Ingredient Cocktails to Make at Home - Easiley

Here are the seven cocktails to make at home, contain mostly 4 simple ingredients . The alcohol content is at an average of 40ml/cl per drink.

1.    Tom Collins

Ingredients

  •   4 cl gin
  •   3 cl lemon juice
  •   3 cl syrup
  •   8 cl soda water

Details

  •   Glass: Tom Collins/ High ball
  •   Method: Build and stir
  •   Fit for: All occasions

The standard method for making a Tom Collins is to build it. That is, in a tall (Collins) glass filled with ice, pour in the alcohol, syrup, lemon juice and then topple with soda water. Stir gently and garnish. A variation of this of this would be with crushed ice. You could also substitute the gin with vodka or tequila.

2.    Tequila Sunrise

Ingredients

  • 4 cl tequila
  • 12 cl orange juice
  • 1 cl grenadine

Details

  • Glass: High ball
  • Method: Build and stir
  • Fit for: Summer and early autumn

Like the Tom Collins, the Tequila sunrise is also built. Fill a high ball glass with ice and add alcohol and orange juice and stir gently. Drop in a dash of grenadine to create the sunrise-effect.

3.    Paloma

Ingredients

  • 4 cl tequila
  • 4 cl grape juice
  • 4 cl soda water
  • 1 cl lime juice

Details

  • Glass: High ball
  • Method: Build and stir
  • Fit for: All time

Add all ingredients into a high ball glass salted on the rim and stir then add ice, or just the reverse. Balance the taste to your palate using the simple syrup, lemon juice or soda water. Gin can be a substitute for tequila in this drink but leave the salt out then.

4.    Old fashioned

Ingredients

  • 4 cl Bourbon
  • 2 dashes bitters
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp water
  • Orange to garnish

Details

  •  Glass: Rock glass
  • Method: Build and stir
  • Fit for: All time

To make an old fashioned, add the sugar of your choice, (we like it brown) a few drops of water, just enough to get the sugar dissolved and the bitters into an old-fashioned glass and mix until the sugar is dissolved or almost dissolved completely. Add big cubes of ice and then the whiskey. Bourbon or rye will do. Stir gently to chill and garnish with an orange zest. Squeeze the zest over the drink to release oils and scents before dropping it in.

5.    Manhattan

Ingredients

  • 4 cl Bourbon/rye
  • 2 cl vermouth ross
  • 2 dashes bitters
  • Cherry to garnish

Details

  • Glass: cocktail glass
  • Method: stirred
  • Fit for: All time

You make a Manhattan by mixing your choice of bourbon or rye whiskey, vermouth and bitters into a Boston glass (a normal glass will also do) with ice and stir gently to chill. Strain into a chilled cocktail or rock glass filled with ice. Garnish with a cocktail cherry.

6.    Dry Savannah

Ingredients

  • 3 cl vodka
  • 2 cl orange liquor
  • 7 cl orange-lime juice
  • 2 cl Syrup
  • Garnish with lime

Details

  • Glass: High ball
  • Method: stirred
  • Fit for: summer & early autumn

In a highball glass filled with ice, add the vodka of your choice and the orange liquor, then add the orange-lime juice mix, then the syrup and stir.

7.    Kamikaze

  • 4 cl vodka
  • 3 cl lime juice
  • 2 cl orange liquor
  • Garnish with lime

Details
